The Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG) will hold its annual State of the Presidency (SoP) Forum 2026 on 21 July 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at the CMC Auditorium, College of Media and Communication, University of the Philippines Diliman.

Carrying the theme "The Presidency and the People's Trust: Governance, Accountability, and National Sovereignty," this year's forum comes at a critical point in Philippine politics as the Marcos Jr. administration enters the latter half of its term. The event will provide an independent platform for examining the administration's performance, the state of democratic governance, and the key political, economic, and foreign policy issues shaping the nation today.

Among the major topics to be discussed are the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, the country's economic challenges and their impact on ordinary Filipinos, democratic accountability and institutional governance, and the Philippines' foreign policy amid intensifying strategic competition between the United States and China, including discussions on the emerging concept of Pax Silica.

The forum seeks to assess how these developments influence public trust in the presidency and democratic institutions while exploring pathways toward accountable governance, constitutional leadership, and the protection of Philippine national sovereignty.

The program will bring together scholars, policy experts, media practitioners, civil society leaders, students, and members of the public for a timely exchange of ideas ahead of the President's State of the Nation Address (SONA).
