With the country’s mid-term elections just two months away (May 12, 2025), the Bikol-based Tabang Bikol Movement, Mariners – Canaman (CamSur) and other partners organized a one-day election forum on April 7.

Held at the social hall of the Canaman (Camarines Sur) campus of the Mariners Polytechnic College Foundation, the forum had Comelec Commissioner Nelson J. Celis as main speaker. The forum also saw the new election machine – South Korean-made MIRU system – in demonstration during a mock election joined by students and community.

Assisted by the think tank Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG), the forum saw about 500 audience some of whom took part in the election trial.

Salamat sa gabos! A huge success. More than 700 pax filled the quadrangle and the Jaime's Hall at MPCF Canaman, with COMELEC led by Commissioner NELSON J. CELIS and his 6-man team including the Education/Information Dept for the sharing and Voting experience using the new counting machine called ACM that replaced the PCOS.

Thank you for joining: CenPEG, IBP, PPCRV, CamSur Chamber of Commerce, UPAA CamSur, Bicol Foundation for Higher Education and some member schools in CamSur, representatives of candidates and political parties, party lists, and 12 media outfits led by DWNX RMN, Bicol Mail, New JaimEliza with suppport from the PIA region 5.

Mabibilang ba nang tama ang ating boto sa darating na Mayo 12?

Bantayan!
