𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙧𝙨

As the 2025 midterm elections draw near, the Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG) calls on the Filipino people to uphold democratic values and 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We say it clearly and without compromise: 𝘿𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙧𝙨.

For far too long, our political system has been hijacked by individuals and dynasties who have used public office for personal gain, robbing our people of essential services, honest leadership, and just governance. Plunderers and corrupt politicians thrive on poverty and fear, manipulating elections through money, disinformation, and patronage.

We must break this cycle.

CenPEG urges voters to critically scrutinize candidates' track records—not their slogans, not their celebrity status, and certainly not the size of their campaign funds. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We also call on the enlightened citizenry, civil society, faith-based institutions, and the academic community to intensify voter education and electoral monitoring to safeguard the sanctity of the vote.

This 2025, let us vote not just with our hearts, but with our conscience and critical mind.
