IN THE NEWS: Calls mount for immediate impeachment trial of SaraThe think tank Center for People Empowerment in Governance (CenPEG) on Wednesday expressed deep concern over the apparent stalling of the impeachment proceedings against Duterte, warning that such inaction reflects the continued erosion of the country’s political and judicial institutions.

Prof. Roland Simbulan, CenPEG chairman, in a press statement said that the failure of accountability mechanisms at the national level justifies and reinforces the call for former President Rodrigo Duterte to be tried before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, the Netherlands.
