Volunteers Integration Program 2006

In order to fulfill its advocacy of grassroots democracy, CenPEG immerses its student volunteers in communities, so that they may help educate the people in key issues on governance, and at the same time get a feel of existing Philippine realities. For the summer of 2006, the student volunteers were integrated with the Ati community in Montalban for three days.

In order to equip the students with proper knowledge in creating their documentary, they were oriented on democratic governance by Professor Ben Lim. These UP CMC student-volunteers listened attentively to the orientation on governance, which they will need in creating a local situationer on Barangay Krus na Ligas.

Focused. UP CMC students facilitated a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Krus na Ligas residents, again for their documentary.

Aside from FGDs, UP CMC students also conducted key informant interviews.
