Moro Reader in CD-book launched

The Center for People Empowerment in Governance launched its latest book, "Rethinking the Bangsamoro Crucible: A Reader," in CD format on August 28, 2008 at the Bulwagang Sala’am, Asian Center, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.

The launching-forum of the book was attended by Muslim students, faculty, some legislators, cause-oriented groups, and members of the diplomatic corps. The book was launched in the midst of the political heat generated by a controversial Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain (MoA-AD) whose signing on August 5 was aborted by a temporary restraining order issued by the Supreme Court.

The 275-page book also features historical documents and copies of agreements relevant to the Bangsamoro issue and peace talks. It was written by scholars, writers, and peace advocates and is on sale at PhP200 a copy.

Hard copies will be available by early October this year. The printed version will be titled, The MORO READER: History and Contemporary Struggles of the Bangsamoro People.
